Avolta and Cometa: Made to Welcome

The collaboration between Avolta, Cometa, and Contrada degli Artigiani was born from a shared vision: to transform places of travel into spaces capable of telling stories of beauty, memory, and work.

From the recovery of barrique wood for the wall at Villoresi Ovest, to the artwork created for Linate, each project has become an opportunity to bring together design, craftsmanship, and education.

Contrada degli Artigiani, with its master craftspeople working alongside people with disabilities and vulnerabilities, has given shape to installations that speak of Milan, its symbols, and its ability to welcome the world.

At Linate, the Duomo became a wall made of light and matter, a recognisable sign for those departing and those arriving.

At Limenella, near Padua, this collaboration reached a new stage, confirming a journey marked by care, sustainability, and attention to detail.

These are not simple decorative interventions, but works born from expert hands and young apprentices, from real skills and an educational vision of work.

In this encounter between enterprise and Cometa, craftsmanship becomes a language that communicates values of inclusion and care for detail. It is a way of making each place more distinctive, more human, and more capable of telling a story of good for everyone.

It is the ongoing journey out into the world. First stop: Barcelona.

The Galleria of Milan is a symbolic place of the Italian city: an icon of style, elegance, encounter, tradition, and innovation.

From this place emerges an idea of Italian identity made of taste, daily rituals, and shared beauty.

Here, the Italian café becomes a style: a way of welcoming, pausing, and recognising oneself.

The artwork — shown in the photograph while being created at Cometa’s Contrada degli Artigiani — reinterprets the Galleria as a living icon, an architecture of time and memory, crossed by light and perspective.

Its vaults, its reflections, and the historic Motta blue, born here in 1928, tell of a tradition capable of travelling the world while carrying with it a beautiful and welcoming way of life.

From Milan to Barcelona, and then beyond, this sign carries with it the care of doing things well. Milan is not only the starting point, but the origin of a style in which people can recognise themselves.

It is a tribute to Italian craftsmanship, created in collaboration with Cometa’s Contrada degli Artigiani: a work that speaks of passion for detail, for material, and for the hand that transforms.

Not merely decoration, but storytelling: a place that becomes identity.
